Experience a once-in-a-lifetime hunt for the Northern Lights with professional aurora hunters as your guides. Conducted in small groups in minibusses, this is a personalized, intimate tour that explores the Arctic nature while you chase the Aurora Borealis.
Your experienced local guides will pick you up in the city center and take you on a breathtaking journey through Tromsø's beautiful mountains, fjords, and valleys. Along the way, you'll make stops to take photos of the stunning scenery and unique nature and to check if the Aurora Borealis can be seen.
Unforgettable Experience
Traveling in a small group in a mini-bus creates a cozy atmosphere, and we are more flexible on the road to reach remote and distant places on the countryside. Arctic nature is unpredictable and wild, so expect an unforgettable experience. We provide insulated whole-body suits to keep you warm and offer snacks and hot drinks.
Your guide takes photos on the tour, which we share with you after the trip free of charge. We also bring extra tripods for your camera that you can rent for the evening.
After the tour, we will take you directly to your hotel.
This tour is available from September 1st to March 31st. However, if you're in Tromsø after March 31st, check out our specific post for possible Aurora sightings in April.
Note: If the sky is very cloudy on the night you booked and the chances of seeing the Northern Lights are small, we will offer you a full refund. We follow the weather forecast closely, so you don't have to. If we don't give you a call before 19:00, the tour will go ahead, and you will be offered to leave the bus and get a full refund or join the tour and get a 30% discount if you don't see the Northern Lights.

What should you bring?
- Warm clothes (at least two layers), gloves and hat, good winter boots.
- Spikes for winter boots that will help you not to slip on icy roads during winter time.
- Food/a meal for the tour
Amazing cruise even though the weather was not great the tour operator did everything to help make the trip fun. Saw various birds and even managed to catch a fish. Food was also great and plentiful, even catered for food allergies.
Stunningly beautiful. As a person whose been to many remote places the sights here were truly stunning. Also the man who led the tour is absolutely hilarious.
It was a really really good experience, very well organized and father and son were a really good crew. We had done to the wale safari too which was also a good trip, Thomas is a really nice and friendly guy. We can only say we will do it again if we stay in tromsø.
